Safety

The safety of our employees, subcontractors, and the public is the highest priority to MW Construction. We have an exemplary safety record in the industry and exceed local and national safety standards.

Due to the fact that the construction industry presents intense safety challenges, MW has an extensive corporate safety structure.  Most of MW management has at least an OSHA 10 hr training certification. MW conducts routine OSHA training for its employees. Weekly toolbox safety meetings are held with all trades to discuss new hazards and standards.  Job wide safety meetings are held monthly that involve all trades on the project including subcontractors.

Activity Hazard Analysis is another useful component of our safety culture.  This process entails a checklist for each task that is performed on all projects.  Before any task is performed, all of the trades are notified of the steps to perform a task, including the safety hazards and the actions to avoid each hazard.  This notification is documented on a standard form.

MW utilizes our safety team to:

  • Prevent injury, illness, and property damage
  • Develop procedures, standards, and policies
  • Train all individuals involved
  • Establish and maintain the corporate safety program

MW understands that all accidents are preventable through planning, training, and cooperation. Though each MW employee is committed to personal safety, we have a team approach utilizing safety personnel and management.  All work is performed in the safest manner possible consistent with best construction practices.
